A record 115 companies in the S&P 500 now trade above a $100 billion market cap.
This figure has nearly TRIPLED since the 2020 pandemic low of 42.
By comparison, 20 companies were worth over $100 billion before the 2008 Financial Crisis, and just 8 at the 2008 low.
The technology sector leads with 31 firms above the $100 billion threshold.
This is followed by financials, industrials, and healthcare at 19, 16, and 16, respectively.
To put this into perspective, just 8 technology companies were valued at over $100 billion at the 2020 market low.
