A new study warns that AI could replace 86% of routine office jobs, with women, especially higher-earning ones, facing the biggest risk. This shift targets paperwork tasks, changing the job landscape.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is set to shake up the job market, and a recent study from the Brownstone Institute has some alarming findings. It predicts that 86% of job losses caused by AI will affect women, particularly those in higher-paid office roles. These are often routine tasks like handling emails or scheduling meetings, which AI can do faster and cheaper. This is a big change from past industrial shifts that mostly hit manual labor jobs.
Unlike the Industrial Revolution, which replaced physical work with machines, AI is now targeting paperwork and administrative roles. These jobs, often held by women, are at high risk of being automated. The study points out that many of these roles involve repetitive tasks that don’t require much creativity or complex thinking. As AI tools get smarter, companies may rely on them instead of human workers, saving time and money.
This trend raises concerns about the future of work, especially for women in these positions. While AI could bring efficiency, it also means many may need to learn new skills or find different careers. The job market is changing fast, and staying prepared will be key to adapting to this new reality.
